In this Quick Reference Guide, we will learn the following:
- How to Order Diagnostics (i.e. CT Scans, MRI's, etc.).
- How to Generate the Diagnostic Requisition.
Note: This Quick Reference Guide assumes that the user has a basic understanding of how to access templates within the EHR application.
How to Order Diagnostics
There are several ways to access the Diagnostic template. However, for the purpose of this guide, we will use the Checkout MG template to do so. If using the Intake MG or SOAP MG template:
- Click on the Checkout tab.
- Select Diagnostics from the list of topics.
- Click Add.
To Order Diagnostics, perform the following steps:
- Select the desired diagnosis from the Today's Assessments list.
- Select the Location to perform diagnostic.
- Authorization is required for CT & MRI's for HMO patients - Select Yes for Authorization required.
Complete the Order(s) by:
- Selecting the type of Diagnostic to be ordered.
- Select the type of test ordering from the Study test grid.
- If necessary, choose a Contrast option.
- Add the Reason for the order.
- Click Place Order.
- Click Save & Close.
Note: Additional comments can be added to the Comments field.
How to Generate the Diagnostic Requisition
The requisition for Diagnostics can be generated from the Checkout MG template. To generate the document:
- Select the order from the Today's order grid.
- Click the Single Requisition button.
