In this Quick Reference Guide, users will learn how to use the Sig Calculator, to calculate the dose range for Pediatric patients. This Quick Reference Guide assumes that the user has a basic understanding as to how to add medications, using the Medications Module.
Accessing the Sig Calculator
After selecting the desired Medication, click the Add Sig link to access the Sig Calculator.
Click the Calculator button.
Completing the Pediatric Dosing Calculator
In the Pediatric Dosing Calculator window, complete the following:
- Free text the dose of the medication in the Dose field (adjust units if necessary)
- Add the Weight of the child based on lbs or kg
- Click OK
Dispensable Sig
In the Dispensable Sig field:
- Free text to complete Sig information
- Click Done
Users can also select from the list of Common Sigs if available.
