In this Quick Reference Guide, we will explain the steps for documenting Paps in the NextGen EHR Application. This Quick Reference Guide assumes that users have a working knowledge of how to order Paps.
Documenting Pap Results
To document the Pap result once received:
- Click the OBGYN Details link on the Patients Information bar.
OBGYN Synopsis
In the OBGYN Synopsis window: click the Add/Update Detail button below the Pap Result, HPV Detail and Treatment grid.
Pap Screenings
To document the Screening date, and Pap screening performed: Click the Screening date field.
Historical Test - Quick Entry
In the Historical Test - Quick Entry window:
- Select the appropriate Test Description from the Pap list.
- Enter the Date Pap Done or the Approximate date.
- Click the Save & Add New button.
- Click OK
The Interpretation and Results field are optional and not required for documenting Pap Results.
Entering Pap Results
Under the Pap Results column:
- Select all results that apply.
- Use Comments field to document any additional comments related to the results.
- Click Update
Once the results have been entered: click OK to close the Pap and HPV Details window.
The results can now be seen from the Pap Result, HPV Detail and Treatment grid. Click Save & Close to exit.
