How to Use the IMO Core Search Tool

In this Quick Reference Guide, we will learn how to use the IMO Core Search Tool.

Accessing the IMO Core Search Tool

The IMO Core Search Tool can be accessed from, but are not limited to the following template:

  • Add or Update Assessment MG
  • *Chronic Conditions MG
  • Controlled Medication MG
  • PT Treating Assessment MG
  • Histories - Cardiology MG
  • Home Page - Cardiology MG
  • SOAP - Cardiology MG
  • Superbill - Cardiology (PEDS) MG
  • Superbill - Cardiology MG

We will use the Add or Update Assessment MG template for the purpose of this illustration.

To Access the IMO Search tool, click the IMO Core button.

Adding Assessments

To search for diagnoses using the IMO Core:

  1. Choose one of the following destinations for your diagnoses:
    • Assessments - Adds diagnoses to today's Assessments list.
    • Problems - Add diagnoses to patients established Problems list.
    • Both - Adds selected diagnoses to both destinations.

The destination should be chosen first before searching for diagnosis.

Perform diagnoses search by:

  1. Typing one of the following in the Search field:
    • Description of diagnosis.
    • Abbreviation of diagnosis. (i.e. HTN, CAD, etc.)
    • Diagnosis code
  2. Click Search

From the Diagnostic Status Mstr window:

  1. Select a Status for today's Assessment.
  2. Click OK.

The selected diagnosis should now appear in the desired destination to the right.

Adding Assessments to Problems List

Assessments added to the Today's Assessments list can be added to the patient's Problem List. To move a diagnosis to the Problem List:

  1. Select Add to Problems
  2. Select desired diagnosis from Assessments list.

Modifying Assessments

The Modify Assessment option allows users to do the following:

  • Change Assessment Status (i.e. Active, Chronic, etc.)
  • Remove Assessment from the  list.

To Modify an Assessment:

  1. Select Modify Assessment.
  2. Select Assessment to be modified.

The option to change Status or Remove the Assessments now appears. (See Image Below)

Adding Problems to Assessments List

Users can move diagnosis from the patient's Problem List to the Assessments List for today's encounter. To do so:

  1. Select Add to Assessments. (should be selected by default)
  2. Select desired Problem.
  3. Select ICD-10 equivalent. (Select current Status after choosing diagnosis)

The selected problem auto converts to the ICD-10 code. You will be prompted if further specificity is needed. (See Image Below)

Modifying Problems

Modifying the Problems list allows users to do the following:

  • Update Problem records as they evolve.
  • Add problem to Track Problems List.
  • Mark as Chronic.
  • Review, and Add Notes.
  • Resolve Problem(s).
  • Delete Problem(s) from the Problem List.

To Modify problems from the patients Problems List:

  1. Select Modify Problem.
  2. Select the desired problem from Problems List.
  3. Modify problem details. (See image below)

Problems added by other practices, cannot be deleted or resolved.

Adding Problem Notes

To Add Problem Notes:

  • Click the Note Modify option.
  • Click Create.

In the field provided:

  • Enter Note details.
  • Click Save.

Notes added to Problems will only be visible in the following locations:

  • Problems Module
  • Problems List
  • Chronic Conditions Template
  • Generated Document.
Creating Favorite List in IMO Core

Users can create personal diagnosis Favorite list within IMO. There are two ways to add Favorites in the IMO Core:

  • MyIMO
  • On the Fly
Adding Favorites Using MyIMO

The MyIMO feature allows users to view and Add New Favorites to their personal Favorites list. To add to the list:

  • Click the MyIMO button.

In the IMO My IMO window:

  1. Click the Add New tab.
  2. Enter diagnosis description.
  3. Select Diagnosis.
  4. Click Save & Close once completed.
Adding Favorites On the Fly

Users can add diagnosis to their personal Favorites list On the Fly, by:

  1. Choose Destination.
  2. Choose the Add to: Favorites option.
  3. Enter diagnosis description.
  4. Click Search.
  5. Select diagnosis.

Select Status when adding to Assessments list.

Selecting Diagnosis from Favorites List

The IMO Favorites list provides a detailed view of a users personal Favorites list. Users can also select diagnosis directly from their personal Favorites list to add to the Assessments list, patient's Problem List or Both.

To select a diagnosis  from your personal Favorites list:

  1. Choose Destination. (i.e. Assessments; Problems; Both)
  2. Select diagnosis from Favorites list. (Select status if prompted)
  3. Select Status if prompted.

Favorites can only be removed from the MyIMO window.
