Nextgen has been updated to allow Immediate care staff to generate special notifications (ICSN) that will automatically be tasked to the patients PCP. This material will provide information on how incoming tasks will look in the user's Clinical Tasking inbox.
Workflow
Below you will find an example of what the task would look like in the PCP's Inbox.
The task will consist of the following:
1. Subject - IC Follow up needed
2. Message body - Your patient requires a follow up from an Immediate Care Visit
Accepting task
You have 2 ways of accepting task:
1. Double Click on message
2. From drop down select Accept and Chart
Accessing the Immediate Care Special Notification Document
Perform the following steps to access the ICSN document:
- Locate encounter that matches the due date of the task that was received
- Click Immediate Care Special Notification document
Immediate Care Special Notification document will contain:
1. PCP's name
2. Patient name and phone number
3. Message stating patient was seen in Immediate Care and needs to be seen
4. Any notes the Doctor in Immediate Care wants to address to PCP
5. The name of the Doctor who seen patient
Optional steps to take after reviewing ICSN document
Once reviewed Providers have the option to do the following:
- Reassign task to staff members
- Launch the Provider Task Action template which can be used for documenting purposes and to send a task to staff members regarding necessary follow up.
