Live Vaccine Dose Minimum Interval Exceptions

In this Quick Reference Guide, we will explain the Live Vaccine Dose Minimum Interval Exceptions rule.

The current Work Flow for ordering and completing vaccines has not changed.

Live Vaccine Warning

If a Live Vaccine dose is ordered within 28 days of another live vaccination. The following Live Vaccine Warning will appear:

Live Vaccine Administration

If the Live Vaccine Warning is ignored, a secondary warning appears when trying to record the administration of the live vaccine.

Exception Rule

If the warnings ignored and the administration of the live vaccine is recorded. The Exception Rule indicator will appear in the Immunizations grid for that vaccine.

Overriding Exception

When necessary, the Exception can be Overridden by:

  1. Right-clicking the exception in the Immunizations grid.
  2. Click the Override Exception check box.

 

Click Yes to confirm the overriding of the Exception.

The Exception Rule is removed and the dose information appears as a normal entry.
